Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Good morning on this last Advent Sunday. We gather full of excitement as we anticipate tonight’s celebration of our Savior’s birthday and as we focus on His birth, we cannot avoid the statement it makes to the world, that God loved us so much, that He gave His one and only Son, that all of us who believe in Him not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16). To make sure that neither one of us will be left out of this great story, He was born into this world in the lowest state. Born not in a palace, as He deserved, but born in a stable surrounded by dirt and filth and enveloped in the stench of manure and animals. I am convinced that all our celebrations far outweigh the pump our King was received with upon His arrival among us. My prayer is that also our hearts show the same pump and joy today that our preparations do for He ultimately did not come to live in the houses we build and adorn but He came to live in our hearts. This what Christmas is all about, God getting a heart of man, conquering the heart of man so He may forever reside in it. That is IMMANUEL!
