Minister’s Corner

A good morning and good Sunday to you! Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

I pray you’ve indeed enjoyed a good morning and there is not a cloud on the sky of your life. However, if there are some clouds peppered here and there, or even if the skies of your life are currently gray, I pray you know of God’s grace. Grace is a word we often use and which we easily explain as an “undeserved gift” from God. Grace, however, goes so much deeper than that. I pray that as you worship with us this morning you will get a deeper understanding of God’s grace leading you to greater peace and strength. As sure as the sun is to come up in the East every morning, and even more sure than that, for even the sun some day may stop rising, God’s grace is available to you a new, every morning, and every night, and even in this moment as you prepare to worship. Embrace His favor!

This Wednesday – July 15th – Family Time & Bible Study

This Wednesday I invite those of you who are willing to come join us at the building from 6:00 PM for our Family Time dinner. Bring your takeout or brown bag and “social distancing” at the building we will share a meal together.

From 7:00 PM we will continue our study of the commands in the New Testament. Please read Matthew 10 in preparation. We will have this study in person and also via Zoom for those who will be joining us from home.

Bible Reading

We will continue the practice if Bible reading together Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. This week, on Thursday, we will finish Revelation. Thus, we would have read together through about all the New Testament. Thank you for doing this amazing journey with me. I have enjoyed the fellowship, the comments, the questions, the ideas expressed and have been blessed anew by reading together with you and I know that I will miss it.

I am willing to keep going. We can go back to Genesis and read the OT.

Services at the church building

Thank you to all of you continuing to join us on Zoom. We appreciate so much having you with us! For those of you joining us in person please continue to observe as best you can all the guidelines of health safety as we continue to worship in the building. We are each responsible for our own health and called to protect those around us as well. As you may know, due to a rise in Covid-19 cases, the Governor has passed new emergency laws. Law 2020-147 requires individuals older than 5 to wear a mask in indoor public places and states that “A willful violation of the order is a misdemeanor subject to a $500 criminal penalty, but no term of confinement may be imposed on individuals who violate the mask requirement. No individual is subject to penalty under the order for removing a mask while engaging in religious worship at a house of religious worship, although consistent with guidance from the CDC, congregants are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings during religious services.” Thank you.

Offering

Don’t forget, for your convenience and safety you can still make your offering on line at http://www.troychurch.net/give

We will not pass an offering tray/plate around. If you want to make your offering via cash or check please place it in the offering tray/plate as you exit the auditorium. Thank you.
