Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

With Labor Day behind us, we have started the Fall Season in Michigan and all children are back in school for their new school year. Traditionally, here at Troy Church, we celebrate this with a partaking from a harvest of corn, good food and fellowship and lots of fun stuff. All of it is under the desire and drive of community. We are a community of people, but even more than that, we are a Kingdom. I like the quote from R.C. Sproul written at the bottom of the next page. How true it is, that as Ambassadors of Christ, it is our lives and our behaviors that reflect and paint a picture of God’s Kingdom for the people of earth. Let us so live as to the higher calling of heaven rather than compete with those in the kingdom of the world for what the world has to offer cannot compare with the glory of God’s kingdom. Remember, the world is God’s creation torn by sin.

This Wednesday – September 13th – Family Time & Daniel Bible Study

On Wednesday, we will meet in person for our Family Time at 6:00PM for those of you who want to bring their meal and eat it in the company of other brothers and sisters. This is our bi-weekly fellowship meal.

From 7PM, We will continue our Bible Study on the Book of Daniel.

Birthdays this week: Charlotte Simmons (12th); Ryeland Oja (13th); Lauren Birdwell (15th); Mary Clary (15th); Angelo & Parker DeMaggio (15th)

Corn Roast – TODAY after the services

This year we will “ease” back into our traditional “after Labor Day Corn Roast” in a much smaller scale than we’ve been used to. This year we will have a potluck style lunch & corn roast on a smaller scale. There won’t be a party tent, petting zoo or rock climbing but instead we will have good food, and a “highland country games” competition. Please plan to attend.

World Bible School

I’ve been thinking about a way to engage as many of our number as possible in an evangelistic/missionary effort and I thought that World Bible School could offer us that opportunity. Check out https://worldbibleschool.org/ and please let me know if you would be willing to be involved.

Offering

This morning besides the offering plate, you can as always have the option to make your contribution online at https://troychurch.net/give

If neither one of these options are suitable, please send a check to Lisa Jones. Her address is in the directory. Thank you.

We bring our requests to you O Lord:

For those who have suffered loss: Jeffery family; Oja & Pryludko Families, Clary Family; Timmy Price’s Family; Bruce Baker

For those healing: Margie Zurlinden, Diane Flatt; Harish’s Dad; Fran Birdwell, Kerry Appolson, Linda Palmer, Pat Zurlinden, Landon Oja, .

For the people of Ukraine

The only way the kingdom of God is going to be manifest in this world before Christ comes is if we manifest it by the way we live as citizens of heaven and subjects of the King.- R. C. Sproul
