As mentioned during this morning's prayer time, Kay sends her greetings to Troy. She was thinking of us because today is Friendship Day. Here's her message:

Moving Help Tomorrow 9/22 for Barb and Fred

Just wanted to let everyone know that Mom and Dad are moving a significant amount of their things to the new house tomorrow. Anyone who wants to flex a few muscles and lend a hand is very welcome to stop by! We're getting started at 10am. They won't be completely moved to the new house until later, but tomorrow will be a big help toward making it happen. I know it's short notice, but I thought I'd let everyone know just in case! Mom & Dad are going to make sure everyone has lunch.

Address:

Fred and Barb Oja
912 Midland
Royal Oak, MI 48073

Bake sale

Thank you for your generous support in the bake sale for World Vision Christmas gift! We were able to raise 3 times the amount we hoped to raise - $628!!! As a result we purchased 3 gifts of goat and two chickens, and the rest went to World Vision medicine fund. Thanks also to our young people and to all who contributed delicious baked goodies! What a beautiful gift to Jesus as we celebrate His birthday!

Meeting with Erica Hebb

Erica Hebb was released a short time ago and Gene, Mary Alice and Bobbie will be meeting with Erica and her sisters for lunch today around 1pm at Lukich’s on Rochester Road near the church. If anyone else would like to join them they would really appreciate it. Please contact Bobbie Westerby if you have questions – they don’t know for sure exactly what time, only that it will be around 1. Bobbie’s phone number is 248-362-0319.

Car needed

Dear church family! We have been praying and looking for a car for my sister Anya for a while now, and she is in a real need at this moment. She has no means of transportation as of today. We let her use our van, and will probably do it for a while, but if anyone knows of a cheaper reliable vehicle she could use, that would be a tremendous blessing! Please, feel free to contact Anya, Pat or myself for more details. Really grateful for all your support and love for our family! ~ Nadya

Softball

If there is enough interest, we are planning to register a men’s team in the Royal Oak recreational league. We will be joining with Heritage to form a combined team of members from our respective churches. The team can have up to 20 players. If we can get 15 players between our two churches then the cost per player will be about $50. That cost can go down if we get more players.
