Minister’s Welcome

Good morning! Today is the day in which begins the week, known in Christianity as, the Holy Week. Today is Palm Sunday, so called because of the palm branches that people laid at Jesus’ feet as He came to Jerusalem for the Passover week. Today, marks the beginning of Jesus’ last week of life before the crucifixion and at this point Jesus walks in Jerusalem as a King. Zechariah 9:9 "The Coming of Zion's King – See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey" Written: Between 520 and 518 BC, this prophecy marks Jesus’ announcement that He is the King indeed. However, in the span of a short week, from victorious in people’s eyes, Jesus becomes cursed and is stretched on the cross. What were people celebrating, why were they so eager to accept Christ as a King? What difference does it make into your own life today? Let’s explore this morning as we gather to praise God for His love, care and constant grace. Today, Jesus doesn’t just walk into Jerusalem but He walks into our very own hearts as we realize that now, even more so than that day, He is the King of Kings, the Prince of Peace, and our hearts are the domain of His kingdom. Thank you for being here today!
