Minister’s Welcome

Good morning and a Happy October to you. I pray that God will bless you this month with renewed energy, stronger health and a greater desire to know Him!

Thank you for being here this morning! Most times, we think of Sunday as the end of a week due to the way our calendars place Sunday at the end of every week. In truth we know that this is the beginning of a new week.

We begin our week by being in each other’s presence and by coming before the Lord together. This is designed on purpose so that as we start a new week, the Lord is first and foremost in our minds, as He should be. Secondly, the way you start a week carries through the entirety of it. That is why it is essential to come together, to focus on God as the beginning of the week, as well as every morning. So, today, right now you have an opportunity, an opportunity to set your week to an amazing start. God wants to bless your week. Will you let Him? Will you open your mind and heart to Him with purpose in the next couple of hours? Will you give it all you have, invest all of you in these next couple of hours so you can be filled with the whole of Him? The choice is yours!

Persecuted for their faith – Asia Bibi

Last Sunday we added to our list the name Asia Bibi who is a 37 years old Pakistani Christian woman arrested for blasphemy against the prophet and condemned to death. She has been imprisoned for 3390 days, yes, three thousand +…Her family is one of only three Christian families in a village, Ittanwali, of 1,500 families. On June 19th 2009 while working in the fields with other women from the village a religious discussion took place. Asia told the women that Jesus is alive, but Mohammad is dead. “Our Christ is the true prophet of God,” she reportedly told them, “and yours is not true.” The Muslim women became angry and began to beat Asia. Then some men took her and locked her in a room. Seventeen months after Asia’s arrest, she was convicted of violating subsection C of Pakistan’s 295 blasphemy law - blasphemy against the prophet Muhammad - and was sentenced to death. (to be continued)
