Minister’s Welcome
Good morning to you! Thank you for taking the time out of your day this morning to come fellowship and worship with us. Thank you for being here as an encouragement for me and each of us, and thank you for your desire to praise God and to worship this morning instead of sleeping in, or walking your dog, or taking care of all those things you’ve needed to take care of for a while now.
I was asked once, if being at the church building every time is open is an obligation for me. As a minister that is a tough question to answer. However, luckily, I’ve not always been a minister and, my church attendance was the same. At first because I was hungry to know more of God. Later, for a period, I felt obligated as a Christian, but after discovering Jesus and learning that the entire law and the prophets rest on the two greatest love commands; loving God with all my heart and mind and soul and loving those around me as I love myself it became easy. I understood that the Church is the body of Christ and in loving it and being with it I am loving Christ and I am with Him. I pray you see Him here today.
This Wednesday – November 1st – Family Time and Peak of the Week
From 6:00PM we will meet to enjoy dinner. Each of us brings his/her own take-out and we all enjoy a time of fellowship and life conversations as we eat.
From 7:00PM we will study Psalm 6. Please read before Wednesday this short Psalm and come share what the Lord puts on your heart.
Halloween at Troy – October 31st – 6:30PM – 8:30PM – Two Days Away
For several years now, Troy Church has become recognized as a welcoming Halloween gathering spot with warm cider and cider doughnuts. Many people from the neighborhood and their children stop by to warm up with cider and have a doughnut. This year we will have several “minute to win it” games for children and adults to play. I would ask your help in providing some prizes (dollar store) for kids as well as for adults. There is a box out in the hallway where you can drop off these prizes. We also accept donations for cider and doughnuts, as well as candy and invite you to come be a part of this fun event.
Bible Break – October 31st @ 9:30
Priscilla Shirer study on THE ARMOR OF GOD. All ladies are welcome and encouraged to share in this time of Bible study and fellowship. This ministry continues to bless those who are able to attend. Please let neighbors, friends and family know about this class. For questions see Mary Clary, Bobbie Westerby or Nancy Schroeder.
Corinthian Gathering
I had an idea and want to run it by you all. As the Corinthian gathering takes place once a month, how would you feel about reading one book of the Bible each month? It will take us five years and a half to read the Bible this way, but I think you can continue your yearly Bible Study plans and in addition take this five-year journey. Each month we will focus on a Book of the Bible and then come together and talk about it. Exchange questions, opinions, research for one hour and then move on to the next book. We will start in December with Genesis. So, from now to December 3rd you will read and study through Genesis. What do you think? Reply in Suggestion Box in the Lobby. Thank you.
