Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

Thank you for being with us this morning! This year has been a year like no other in the lives of the generations alive. Well, may be with the exception of the some 300,000 World War II veterans still living among us today. This however has been definitely the year in which HOPE gained new meaning. A deeper meaning, as we’ve watched the unfolding of riots, disease, , fires, elections and a plethora of other events and phenomena with dramatic impact on our lives. The words of the ol’ hymn never rang truer: “This world is not my home, I’m just a passing through, My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue, The angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door, And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.” As we kick off the season of Advent today with our first Advent candle, let us gather around and let God’s Spirit ignite, re-kindle or just enhance the fire in our hearts, the passion for our faith, our Savior and the message of the cross, the message of our Hope!

This Wednesday – December 2^nd – Family Time & Bible Study

Wednesday I invite those of you who are willing to come join us at the building from 6:00 PM for our Family Time dinner. Bring your takeout or brown bag at the building and have it together with us.

From 7:00 PM we will continue our reading of The Rational Bible: Genesis by Dennis Prager. We are on verse 8 of chapter 4.

Bible Reading

I invite you to join us in the journey of reading the entire Bible chronologically following the Chronological NIV Study Bible. We are at chapter 39 of Genesis and we read on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 7:30 PM to 8:00PM.

Small Group

December is upon us. Currently I am reading the Bible with our reading group on Tuesday and Friday evenings. On Wednesday we have our Peak of the Week at the church building and Zoom. That leaves Monday & Thursday. Thursday evening is not possible for me so Monday is the only day that I could have a Zoom small group. At this moment I am looking only for a maximum of 6 families, including mine, to start this ministry. Minim one of the families I would like to be of older age. Please let me know if you want to participate: - 1^st come, 1^st served type of deal. Thank you!

Yousef Nadarkhani – Imprisoned for 854 days

Yousef Nadarkhani and three of his church members, Saheb (Zaman) Fadaee, Mohammad Ali (Yasser) Mosayebzadeh and Mohammad Reza Omidi, are serving 10-year prison sentences on charges of “acting against national security” and “promoting Zionist Christianity.” Yousef, 45, had spent nearly three years in prison after being sentenced to death for apostasy in 2010. He was acquitted in September 2012. He was arrested again on Friday, May 13, 2016. Yousef and Fatemeh (wife) were released on bail the same day. Yousef was sentenced in July 2017 and began his sentence a year later in July 2018, after a violent arrest at his home.
