Minister’s Corner

Good morning and blessings to you from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!

I pray that you all are doing well and are in good health as we continue this shutdown of our community which in many ways has brought our lives to a standstill. Perhaps not a stand still but may be to a forced Sabbath and I hope that as in Sabbath, you’ve directed your minds and hearts in this time not to fear, not to anxiety but to God. We know that throughout history God chose to use many natural events, and plagues and misfortunes to one direct scope, to turn people’s hearts toward Him. To that end, and as His ambassadors and fellow laborers we need to unite with Him in this endeavor. Spread love, not fear, encourage one another and encourage those you have contact with (not in person, of course) to seek His will and His face. More than anything else, PRAY, PRAY and continue to PRAY for the world, for the country and for our communities that this pandemic may open their eyes to our own limits and to our true dependency on God.

Wake up every day this coming week with this thought “How am I to be a light today for the Lord?” Peace to you in Christ! Amen!

This Wednesday – April 1st – Bible Study from 7:00 PM

This Wednesday we will continue our online Bible Study of the End of Times by diving deeper into Matthew 24. Please read and pray over this chapter before then and if you have any questions please send them to me at my email address shown to the left.

I will send an email with log in details on Tuesday evening and a text reminder on Wednesday afternoon.

Elderly status check

Please continue to check on our elder members to make sure they are taking care of and are not in any need. As you do so please mark the file I set up on Google. Please email me if you do not have the link for it.

Bible Reading

I’ve been thinking of other ways in which to connect all of us and thought that a great way would be a 30 minutes daily reading Bible session. We can take turns reading as the others follow. It will give us a chance to see one another, to catch up with the day to day, to pray, to read the Bible, to make the time pass in a more constructive and pleasant way.

I was thinking that 7PM is the best time for most. Please let me know if that works for you. Also please give me some suggestions of what book should we start reading together. Should we try to go together through the whole New Testament? Should we jump in and fallow Ron’s Bible Reading schedule for the year?

COVID-19 & near future outlook

I keep track of the infections around the world and in our community closely. I’ve created some graphs and charts that help me distinguish trends. I started on March 21st so I am a little behind the curve but in Michigan daily infection numbers are still on the rise. I want to remind you that the published numbers are from tested cases, many of which are severe. There are most likely tens of thousands more who are infected without any severe signs. Many of the children infected seem to be spreading the disease without being even really affected by any symptoms. As such, I believe that our current situation will be extended. Please stay in as much as you can and take precautions when you go to the store. The pathogen stays airborne for two hours so you could get infected just by walking and breathing where an infected person was an hour before you… May God keep you all in His care!
