Minister’s Corner

Shalom aleikhem! שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵיכֶם Peace be upon you!

I pray these words reach you in a best moment as this new day begins, when you feel closest to God, when your heart is open and tender, and ready to listen, to tune in to God. It seems that all the history of humanity is about the struggle for humankind between hearing the voice of God and trying to not give in to the voice of the enemy. Frustratingly when God whispers, the enemy screams. The challenge for us is being able to hear God’s voice, to understand it out of all the cacophony going on inside and outside our heads. Jesus says as recorded in John 10:27 “27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” So then, why is it so hard to hear God’s voice? Today we continue our exploration of our relationship with Jesus as our Shepherd, learning to listen to His voice, to discern it out of the noise. It is a good day! Let’s celebrate and sing His praises for there are reasons aplenty! Holy! Holy! Holy! Is the Lord!

This Wednesday – September 23^rd – Family Time & Bible Study

This Wednesday I invite those of you who are willing to come join us at the building from 6:00 PM for our Family Time dinner. Bring your takeout or brown bag at the building and have it together with us.

From 7:00 PM we will continue our study of the Book of Isaiah corresponding with our collective Bible reading. Please send me any questions you may have so I can prepare the lesson. Thank you.

Bible Reading – Tuesday & Friday – 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM

On Tuesday we will read Isaiah 53, 54 & 55 (I do have a game from 6PM so Gianna would have to start it) and on Friday, Isaiah 56, 57 & 58. Please join us from 7:30 to read God’s Word together. The Apostles and the 1^st century Church were daily in the Word together.

God, Guys & Guns

As it plays out, I won’t be able to attend this year’s 3G as it will take place in the same weekend as the National Soccer Tournament for the team I am coaching. Todd Oja will still host it for one day only, Saturday, October 24^th and He would like to know who is still interested. Please let me know by tomorrow.

Genesis Class

We are about two weeks away from finishing our overview and reading of the Book of Isaiah. Following that we will start a study of Genesis facilitated by Charles. Please make plans to attend. We’ve eliminated the bugs and Zoom works great.
